Lieutenant Colonel Rebecca Stottlemyer is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and commissioned via the Platoon Leaders Course (Jr/Sr) in 2008.
In 2009 she attended The Basic School and was assigned the 0180 MOS – now 0102, Manpower Officer – and graduated the Basic Manpower Officer Course in September, 2009. She was assigned as the Combat Logistics Battalion 5 Adjutant where she deployed to Afghanistan in 2010.
Following deployment, she fleeted up to be the Combat Logistics Regiment 17 Adjutant. In 2012 she transferred to Headquarters Marine Corps, Command, Control, Computers, and Communication (C4). During this assignment, she attended the Martial Arts Instructor Course at the Martial Arts Center of Excellence (MACE) in Quantico, VA. After graduating the course, she was offered the opportunity to stay at the MACE and attend the Martial Arts Instructor Trainer Course and become the Executive Officer and Operations Officer.
After her MACE tour, Captain Stottlemyer attended resident Expeditionary Warfare School, then transitioned to 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. She deployed with 24th MEU in 2017, then took command of Headquarters Company, 2nd Marine Raider Support Battalion. After her company command tour, she transferred to MARSOC G-1 to serve as the Adjutant.
During her MARSOC G-1 Adjutant tour, Major Stottlemyer was selected to serve as the Aide-de-Camp to the Secretary of the Navy. Following her Aide-de-Camp tour, she was assigned to Newport, RI as a student at the Navy Command and Staff College, where she earned a Master of National Security and Strategic Studies. During this time, she also completed a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School.
In 2022, LtCol Stottlemyer moved to Tampa, FL to serve as a Plans Officer in USCENTCOM J15. In 2024, she executed orders to Camp Lejeune, NC to serve as the AC/S G-1 for 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
In June 2025, Lieutenant Colonel Stottlemyer executed orders to Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools to serve as the Commanding Officer of the Personnel Administration School.
