The Marine Corps Water Survival School (MCWSS) serves to train Marines and Sailors to perform duties as Marine Corps Instructors of Water Survival (MCIWS). MCWSS also acts as the center for resolution of all water survival training issues and the management of the water survival training program.

STUDENT REPORTING PROCEDURES

Use of government quarters and messing is directed, if available. Travel claims including full per diem or commercial billeting will be rejected without a letter of non-availability.

Billeting arrangements are the responsibility of the student.

Students should attend the school on funded orders.

E-6 and above contact the BOQ 910-451-2146/1835 for room availability.

E-5 and below should contact the school at 910-450-0061/0909 for room availability. If checking in on the weekend or after regular business hours, report to the CDO Bldg M130 for BEQ room issue.

Reporting for class:

  • Report to Bldg M139 (Training Tank) at 0600 on the convening date of the class.

  • Bring: Prescreening Checklist (NAVMC 11627), TAD orders, ID card, goggles, and swim trunks for males or one-piece swim suit for females.

  • The first training event is a confirmation of the prescreening requirements.

Military PT clothing will be worn for periods of classroom instruction; however, appropriate uniforms should be available in case it becomes necessary to go to other areas of the base.

Personnel who do not meet ALL prerequisites will not be enrolled in the course and will be returned to their parent command.
